Jamie Simkins is a Licensed Professional Counselor and holds a master’s degree
in Clinical Psychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
In her therapeutic work with clients, Jamie strives to honor the whole person –
taking into consideration the biological, psychological, social, and spiritual components
which make up each person’s background. She recognizes that each client’s needs
are unique and uses an integrative approach to therapy, pulling from a number of
orientations including Family Systems, Attachment Theory, Cognitive Behavioral,
Gestalt, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
Areas of focus in Jamie’s practice include, but are not limited to: relationship issues,
social anxiety, trauma/sexual abuse, domestic violence (working with both perpetrators
and victims) and LGBTQ issues. Considering the counseling relationship to be
a true partnership, Jamie is passionate about helping clients partake in the
abundant goodness that life has to offer – and she considers it a privilege to
be a fellow traveler on that journey.
